Dear Parents,
Our first grade classes will be going to the Monte L. Bean Museum in Provo on Thursday, March 29, 2018. Field trips are an exciting part of every school year. They give students the chance for hands-on learning and help students make real-world connections. The pink permission slip was sent home today, allowing your student to attend the field trip. Please return the signed note by this Thursday, March 8th. (It says Friday, but the kids don't have school on Friday.) We will be leaving school at approximately 9:00 in the morning and will be returning around 2:00. We will be eating lunch at a nearby pavilion after touring the museum. Your student has two choices for lunch that day. He/she may either order a school sack lunch (paid from his/her lunch account), or bring a lunch from home. If ordering a school sack lunch, please indicate on the form. We are also in need of parent volunteers to supervise our students. Reminder: All volunteers will be required to have fingerprinting and background check forms completed. (It takes approximately 1-2 weeks for the background check to come back.) If you have already done so this year, you are okay. :) Since this is a first grade only activity, ABSOLUTELY NO SIBLINGS AND/OR FRIENDS ARE ALLOWED TO ATTEND. Unfortunately, due to tour sizes, the number of parents we can take on the field trip is limited. We will need 4 volunteers per class. Since many like to help out on field trips, and to make it fair for everyone, I will hold a random drawing to determine who will volunteer. I will contact the parents whose names are drawn, by March 12th. If you are interested in helping, indicate YES on the field trip paper (attached to the other paper). If you are unable to help at this time, indicate NO on the slip. Please return the slip ASAP. Field trip forms were sent home today. If your child did not bring one home, please have him/her check their mailbox at school. If you have any questions, please email me. :) Thank you for your help and cooperation! As always, I appreciate the opportunity to provide unique experiences that will make a difference in your child's education. ~Mrs. Patterick |
