I hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving break. It's sure good to be back with my fun class!
Now that the snow and cold weather has arrived, I'd like to remind parents to please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather. Your student has two recesses and it can make for a very uncomfortable recess if your child is not dressed for the weather. Please make sure your child comes to school wearing a warm coat and appropriate shoes. You may also want to consider sending your child with any of the following items to keep them extra warm during their recesses: gloves/mittens, hat, scarf, etc. I want to make sure my students are dressed for the weather so they can enjoy their time outside in the fresh air. :)
Also, this is a friendly reminder to plan ahead for snack. Feel free to have your child put multiple bags of snack in his/her backpack so it will last them a few days or a week. Some parents find it helpful to send a box of crackers, fruit snacks, etc. for their child and I'll keep it in my cupboard with his/her name on it. Whatever works for you, works for me.
Last but not least, I have a lot of students who are very hungry by about 10:00. Please make sure your child has a good breakfast that will keep their little tummies full for the morning. We are the very first students to lunch at 11:15.
Last week I sent home a sign-up sheet for donations for our upcoming Gingerbread unit. I appreciate all the parents who have offered to help with items needed! In order to facilitate the items being brought in, please take a moment and sign up online. I have signed up a few people, however, I couldn't sign some of you up because you already have an account with Sign Up Genius. Please go ahead and refer to the next post below for the sign-up tab. :) If you sign up, please plan to send that item to school by Tuesday, December 6th.
I appreciate the opportunity to be a part of your child's education!
Have a great evening!
